Drug formulation is one of the key factors and the first primary step that is to be taken into consideration as it determines the overall composition of the how the drug is needed to be made so that it can perform the activity which it needs to perform. As the drugs are to be taken by humans during the clinical trials the drug is needed to be designed in such a way that it won’t cause any damages to the system. The process involves the usage of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) which is the novel product that is set to treat the condition is added along with some excipients, which are highly inactive and helps in aiding the API to reach the potential treatment place before the API gets wasted on places other than the site of damage.
Track 08: Pharmaceuticals and Vaccines
Vaccines are chemical or biological compounds which are given to individuals to enact an immune response against a certain disease. Vaccines help in activating the immune response by the cells against particular diseases so if they were to attack the system again, the human system will respond to the vaccines at a faster rate and eliminate the threat before it develops and takes over the human system. With the pharmaceutical companies were less interested in developing vaccines during the late 2018’s, the threat of COVID-19 enabled every industry to develop a novel vaccine as it is a disease that has never been tackled before. Major Pharmaceutical companies have started to put more effort on developing vaccines and set to take their place as one of the pioneers in this domain
Track 09: Radiopharmaceuticals
Radiopharmaceuticals are one in which radioactive agents are used to diagnose or to treat a particular disease condition. The usage of radioactive agents for treating any condition seems complex and may cause some damages to the system however, if they are to be used on smaller amount for diagnostic purposes, they are considered to be safe and is they are to be used to treatment, larger amount of radioactive materials are needed and thereby causing some lasting side-effects to the system.
Track 10: Pharmacology
Pharmacology defines the interaction between the chemicals and the human system and how it influences treating the disease. The pharmacology studies help in understanding the optimal level of drug composition needed to treat disease and the way the drug needs to be designed so it may be enough to treat the complexion within the system. This is the major step that is to be followed before the production of the drugs on a larger scale.
Track 11: Pharmaceutical Biotechnology
Pharmaceutical biotechnology is a novel and innovative process in which the concept of Biotechnology is integrated with pharmaceutical studies to develop a novel and innovative drug product. The current market is filled with bio-tech-developed products (bio-formulations) such as vaccines, antibodies, nucleic acid products, etc. One of the major product developments that are derived through this domain involves removing and altering our own cells and directing our system to eliminate the disease. This method is found successful and now nearly 51% of the biotechnology-related solutions are used by health care and pharmaceutical domains.
Track 12: Pharmacokinetics
The science of drug movement is known as pharmacokinetics. Pharmacokinetics is one of the two major fields of study that comprise the scientific discipline of pharmacology. The application of pharmacokinetic principles to the safe and effective therapeutic management of drugs in an individual patient is referred to as clinical pharmacokinetics. Clinical pharmacokinetics involves improving the efficacy and lowering the toxicity of a patient's drug therapy. The discovery of strong correlations between drug concentrations and pharmacologic responses has enabled clinicians to apply pharmacokinetic principles to real-world patient situations. In pharmacokinetics, four phases are involved.
Track 13: Pharmacodynamics
Pharmacodynamics is the study of the biochemical, physiologic, and molecular effects of drugs on the human body, and it includes concepts such as receptor binding, post receptor effects, and chemical interactions. The study of pharmacodynamics is the second of two branches included in the scientific discipline of pharmacology. It is the quantitative investigation of the relationship between drug exposure and the drug's pharmacologic and effects. Pharmacodynamics refers to the relationship between drug concentration at the site of action and the resulting effect, which includes the time course and intensity of therapeutic and adverse effects.
Track 14: Pharmacoepidemiology
Pharmacoepidemiology is the study of medication utilisation and effects in large human populations, bridging clinical pharmacology and epidemiology. It calculates the risks and benefits of medication use on a variety of important physical and mental health outcomes. Pharmacoepidemiological studies are important for identifying rare but serious postmarketing adverse drug reactions. Investigating risks and benefits in populations excluded from randomized clinical trials; increasingly used in public health and clinical decisions.
Track 15: Pharmacogenomics
Pharmacogenomics (also known as pharmacogenetics) is the study of how a person's genes influence how he or she responds to medications. Its long-term goal is to assist doctors in selecting the drugs and dosages that are best suited for each individual. It falls under the purview of precision medicine, which seeks to treat each patient on an individual basis. The study of differential gene-expression profiles in tissues of interest and their relationship to drug-response phenotypes is referred to as pharmacogenomics. The field of pharmacogenomics is concerned with treatment efficacy, dosing, and safety. Pharmacogenomics is regarded as a critical future area for improving drug therapy and prescribing.
